How does a Bike Swap work?
This is a new and used bike sale where you can bring in a used bike to sell or purchase one for yourself. If your bike sells on Saturday, June 15th (one day only) you will receive 100% of the value in a store credit or 80% of the value by cheque.
Bring in a bicycle in good condition, and functioning to sell on consignment.
Purchase a previously owned bike.
Our staff will assist you with any questions but the prices will be fixed (by the owner).
What’s going to be there?
The bikes at the swap depend entirely on what is brought in by the participants. There is a variety of styles and prices. The best selection is available in the morning and good deals will go quickly. Come down early to browse. Swap and Sale begins at 9:30 am!
How do I know if my bike was sold?
We will contact you after the swap to let you know! If your bike is sold, we will add 100% of the sale amount to your store account. Otherwise you may choose to collect 80% of the total sale amount by cheque at the store.
What if my bike doesn’t sell?
If your bike is not sold, it is your responsibility to pick it up within 1 week of the Swap. Any items not picked up will be donated to a local charity. Martin’s Bicycle Shop is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
If you have any more questions please email us or call 519.797.3200 and ask for Brett
The bicycle shop came from a humble beginning in the garden centre of Martin’s Home Hardware back in the Spring of 1999 and has since grown to be one the larger shops in South Western Ontario.

Our 4th and final Criterium Clinic of the summer will help to get you ready for the War on the Shore the upcoming Sunday. This is a great way to build some confidence, some speed, and some strategy to either beat your time from last year, make it onto the podium, or leave your nemesis in the dust. Don't forget that we have some fun racing categories such as the 94.5 Classic Rock Cruiser Rally (5km) and the Beginner Mens & Womens (10km) which are perfect for those with absolutely no racing experience.
We are hosting a maintenance clinic here at the shop to help those who might seem nervous about the thought of putting a chain back on, or changing a tire on the side of road. We will also cover the basics of adjusting saddle height and bar position to help improve a rider's comfort or pedaling efficiency. Afterwards, we will do a short (20-25 km) group ride to Port Elgin and back.
Join us this Sunday morning for a group ride on paved roads from the shop to the 'By the Bay Restaurant' in Pike Bay (approx 100 km round trip). After brunch we will return home along the same route. Groups will be split based on average speed with with stops along the way as needed. Please contact the bike shop with any questions. Cheers!
Join us again this year for the Ride Don't Hide in Owen Sound, ON.
